God & Neighbor is…

  • I grew up in church my whole life, but it wasn’t until my adulthood and after multiple years of lay ministry that I finally began to understand the story of the Bible. Unlocking the story helped clarify so many other parts of lay leadership for me, and I want to share what I’ve learned to help minimize that gap of learning for others serving in their local churches.

  • Lay leaders in the church often get a hodgepodge of training and Bible-equipping that lacks cohesion. Their professional experiences outside of the church sometimes minimize their opportunities to be consistently developed as leaders, teachers, and facilitators. But their role is vitally important! Lay leaders teach Bible studies, lead small groups, shepherd ministry teams and more. While they may not be seminarians, lay leaders can benefit from cohesive, scaffolded equipping as well.

  • Budding - as the Oxford dictionary puts it, this is someone who exhibits the beginning signs of promise in a particular career or field. Whether you’re considering ministry as a potential career, or you’re in the first years of ministry and hoping to shore up your leadership foundation, my hope is that the resources here offer you engaging ideas, strategies, and content that help direct you toward a greater love for God and Neighbor as a church leader.
